When I saw the “Babe With the Power” diaper from The Albino Squirrel, I knew I had to buy it. I’ve wanted to try a diaper by The Albino Squirrel for awhile now and since Labyrinth was my favorite movie growing up, I figured now was a good time to try one out. This diaper is so amazing; I can’t wait to buy more.

Longevity:

This is a one size diaper meant to fit roughly from birth to potty training (8-35pounds). When I first saw this diaper, I thought it seemed a little small and I was nervous it wouldn’t last until potty training. This was just an optical illusion caused by the amazingly stretchy elastics used in this diaper. The diaper is actually a normal size and should easily last through potty training.

Quality:

The quality of this diaper by The Albino Squirrel is stellar. Each diaper is handmade with obvious love and care. The materials are high quality and the stitching is impeccable. We haven’t had a single rogue string on this diaper and know it will hold up through years of use. I wish these diaper came with an insert because I bet any inserts made by The Albino Squirrel would be amazing quality.

Fit:

The fit on this diaper is absolutely amazing. The elastics are so stretchy we haven’t had a single leak, yet they are gentle enough that this diaper doesn’t leave red marks on Pumpkin’s thighs. Unlike most one size diapers, I imagine this would actually fit pretty well on a small 8 pounder and still fit well at 35 pounds! (In other news, it’s becoming a challenge to get Pumpkin to lay still for a photo…)

Ease of Use:

This is a pocket diaper, which means you need to stuff an insert in to use this diaper. The Albino Squirrel pockets are very easy to stuff though, with nice smooth materials inside the pocket that don’t catch on the inserts. This PUL isn’t sticky or grabby which makes these diapers easy to manage. The snap placement on these diapers is also easy to use. There are only two snaps on each tab that snap onto one row of snaps on the body of the diaper, no awkward staggered snaps to worry about here. Most should find this diaper very easy to use!

Price:

Honestly, at first $23.50 for a pocket diaper without an insert seemed a little steep to me. At that price you would need to use the diaper 94 times before it becomes cheaper than disposables. After seeing the diaper and using it for a few times, I’ve realized that price is totally worth it! The Albino Squirrel’s diapers are all handmade and absolutely gorgeous. You are getting a very high quality diaper that should last through years of diapering. So yes, while the price did initially scare me, I am glad I spent the money!

Cuteness:

These diapers are so dang cute; Pumpkin’s butt has never looked better. There are so many cute patterns available- mostly featuring movie characters or symbols. I wish there were a few more plain/basic print diapers available because I love the fit but honestly feel like this diaper is too gorgeous to warrant constant wear. Maybe I just need to buy a few more so I don’t feel like Pumpkin is constantly wearing this one. I do like that all the diapers are the same price, regardless of how elaborate the design is.

Overall:

While I was initially put off by the price, this diaper is definitely worth it. The fit and quality are great and the pattern is absolutely adorable. Bottom line: Yes, I would buy this again. And I’m going to keep my eye on The Albino Squirrel to see what other diapers are released with patterns relating to my favorite movies.
