We have heard so many great things about AppleCheeks diapers and I knew I had to try them. The cover is cute and fits well and the insert is super soft and absorbent. I can definitely understand what all the hype is about because these diapers are so luxurious.

Longevity:

The AppleCheeks one size envelope color is meant to fit from 6-35+ pounds, which is one of the largest weight ranges I’ve seen. This diaper could definitely fit a 6 pounder as it has a nice trim design with snug elastics. I’m not 100% sure that this diaper would fit as well on a 35 pounder but the elastics do have a lot of stretch, so it very well could fit a larger toddler. Even though this diaper is tailored towards a smaller baby, you should still be able to get years of use out of this.

Quality:

AppleCheeks diapers are high quality. They are sewn properly and consistently using high quality materials. Even the sewing on the insert is straight and professional while the material of the insert is soft and durable. The insert is one of the softest I have ever felt. I commented to my husband when I first stuffed the diaper that I wish my clothes were all made out of the same material as the insert. Both the cover and the insert will easily hold up to years of use and abuse. Throughout repeated washings I haven’t seen any rogue strings or other signs of wear.

Fit:

IMG_6819This diaper fits Pumpkin like a glove. They’re trim and snug fitting while still offering plenty of absorption and room to grow. I honestly wish we had gotten one of these when Pumpkin was tiny. These would have easily fit Pumpkin once he hit 6 pounds and we could have started using these months before we were able to use our other one size diapers- saving us the misery of trying to stuff newborn diapers. But with that, I honestly don’t think these will fit as well on a larger baby. There isn’t tons of room to grow in the waist or the rise so I can’t imagine that these would fit as perfectly on a large baby. Pumpkin has been around 16 pounds for months so only time can tell if we’ll have fit issues once he gets a little chunkier. On the bright side, we have never had a leak with these because they’re so snug fitting and absorbent.

Ease of Use:

Unlike other pocket diapers, the opening to stuff the AppleCheeks one size cover is located towards the back of the diaper but not directly on the back/top of the diaper. This makes stuffing so much easier- especially with their bamboo insert which requires folding. For this diaper you can just stuff half the insert in the front and half in the back, meaning you don’t have to stuff your entire hand into the diaper. This is a wonderful design that I absolutely love. The only potential problem I can foresee is regarding poop. Pumpkin hasn’t pooped in this diaper yet but I’m worried it will be hard to get the insert out without getting my hands yucky. I guess time will eventually tell if this is an actual issue or I’m just being ridiculous. If this is an issue, you can always just lay the insert inside the diaper and avoid stuffing altogether.

Price:

At $23.00, you would need to use each AppleCheeks one size diaper roughly 92 times before they become cheaper than disposables. Since these will fit from birth, using 92 times shouldn’t be a problem. I wish the inserts were cheaper because I really want to just buy more inserts to use with our other diapers but can’t justify the expense. The inserts on Amazon are about $19 for 2 inserts.

Cuteness:

AppleCheeks has so many cute prints and beautiful solids. They’re also frequently releasing new prints/solids. You could easily build your entire stash out of these diapers without repeating many prints/colors. I wish there were more prints available on Amazon, but there are other places to buy diapers so that’s not a super big deal.

Overall:

AppleCheeks one size envelope cover is a great diaper, especially for a smaller baby or for those wanting a diaper they can literally use from birth onward. We currently love the fit, butter soft insert, and adorable prints. I’m not 100% sure if I will love this as much once Pumpkin is a chubby giant but since he’s been 16 pounds for months now, we will probably have a lot more months of use out of this diaper before he’s even close to outgrowing it. Bottom Line: Yes, I would buy this again. I would highly recommend buying some of these in place of newborn diapers, they will last so much longer and are so much easier to stuff!

  1. Hey! I recently fell in love with these as well and am switching over my whole stash slowly to AC! I just wanted to tell you that the insert agitates out in the wash so no touching poop! And also the one size is said by other AC moms that it’s in between size one and size two. My chunky girl is 19lbs at 6 months so I decided to go straight to size two and they will def fit until potty trained! The down side is you can’t use size two for newborns. Also I’ve gotten some of my diapers $6 new you just have to find the right sales! Black Friday was a biggie even the bamboo inserts were on sale! Anyways glad to hear somebody else likes the as much as I do. Have a good day! ❤️🍎
