Ease of Use: 8/10
This is a review, not just of the diaper, but of the entire Bumble Bbs monthly subscription package. I have seen so many cloth diaper companies offering subscription packages but I haven’t been all that interested. Bumble Bbs cloth diaper subscription package completely changed my mind; not only are the prints gorgeous, but the price is affordable, and the package is so much more than just a diaper. If you are going to sign up for a subscription to anything it should be this Bumble Bbs monthly subscription package.
The diaper included in the subscription package is meant to fit from 12-30 pounds, which is a narrower range than most other one size diapers we’ve tried but honestly, this diaper should still last you from a few months old through potty training. The wipes you will be able to use long past the diaper years, whether for cleaning or blowing noses. The cloth diaper keychain, well, you can use that forever… right?!
The quality of this diaper is truly stellar. You would never guess that it wasn’t made in a factory- the stitching is even, the snaps are secure, and there is not a loose thread to be found. This is true for everything included in the package- even the diaper keychain is impeccably made.
Pumpkin is starting to get some chunky thighs and I am loving the fit of the Bumble BBs diaper way more than Best Bottoms or Buttons. If you have a slightly chunky kiddo Bumble Bbs will offer you an AI2 with the best fit. I’m not sure how well this diaper will work on a super skinny kiddo (Pumpkin is at 17% for weight) but I’m sure it would still fit with a little bit of trial and error. This diaper, when assembled with the included inserts, is nice and trim and we have never experienced a leak.
Ease of Use:
The Bumble Bbs AI2 diaper is so easy to use- just snap the insert(s) into the diaper, put diaper on baby, and you’re ready to go! When the diaper is wet, simply swap out the inserts and wipe down the cover before reattaching to baby. The only thing that would make this diaper even easier to use is if it were compatible with the other major AI2 brands. The Bumble Bbs diaper has two snaps on each side (front and back) for the insert to snap into the shell while many other brands have only one snap on each side. This isn’t a huge deal, it just means I have to separate covers and inserts by brand.
At first, I was a little bit put off by the price. $30 seems a little expensive for an AI2 diaper to me… but then I realized it’s actually just as affordable (if not more so) than other major brands of AI2’s. Other brands charge $10-20 for a cover and over $5 for an insert. The Bumble Bbs subscription package includes a cover, 2 inserts, 4 wipes, and an adorable keychain for only a few dollars more than you’d pay for a different brand cover and insert. At this price you only need to use the system roughly 120 times before it becomes cheaper than disposables (and really it’s less because keychain etc). This is definitely a really good deal for a diaper that wasn’t mass produced. Also, if $30 is out of your price range you can buy just a pocket diaper or diaper cover without all the extras for a few bucks less.
One word: Avocados. The entire reason why I decided to order a diaper from Bumble Bbs was because they offered an adorable avocado print for one of their subscription months. I can’t resist avocado diapers (if anyone knows where I can get more, please tell me!) and so I ordered one right away. The other prints they offered during the avocado month were lovely as well and I’ve seen so many other cute prints in the previous months and the months since. I can’t wait to see what the coming months bring in terms of cuteness! Also, if you wanted to build your entire stash out of Bumble Bbs AI2’s, as long as you were willing to wait a few months, you could build a sizable collection without ever repeating a print!
Also, can we talk cloth diaper keychains for a second here. I thought these were a little silly when I saw these for sale in different shops. Now that I’ve attached this avocado diaper keychain to my diaper bag, I realize how necessary these are. They’re so cute and I can get a miniature diaper in a print that matches his actual diaper. And I’ve gotten tons of comments from random people on the street saying how cute it is. I’m definitely glad the keychain is part of the package.
I’m actually surprised by how impressed I am with the Bumble Bbs AI2 diaper subscription package. The diaper is amazing quality, adorable, and the price is reasonable. Bottom Line: Yes, I would buy this again. And I can’t wait to see what new prints come out in the next couple of months so I can order more.
